Vintage Meets Modern
As you’ve heard me say before, I have a deep love for vintage pieces. I love the stories that lie behind each item, the originality they hold, and the incredible prints and styles from the past.
While in New York, I stumbled upon one of my new favorite vintage shops – Thriftwares. They had some of the most incredible items that ranged from high-end fashion brands, like Chanel, to brands such as Levis. Of course, I couldn’t leave the store empty-handed.
I bought this beautiful By Krizia top. Everything from the geometric pattern to the silhouette of the top is amazing. The best part of all? It is one of a kind.
While you might not guess that this top is not brand new and not from the latest collections you see in stores; when styled with modern pieces it seems like it should be. With all that is going on in the top, I wanted to keep everything else simple to draw the focus solely to the beauty of the vintage blouse. I styled it with ripped true navy denim and a faux fur vest, keeping the look clean and timeless.
One tip I do have for you when purchasing vintage is, make sure you double check the web to find out if it is truly a vintage piece. Sometimes, sadly, vintage shops can mix in items that aren’t true vintage, so always be sure to triple check.
As always, don’t be afraid to test the boundaries of fashion. Take risks and have fun with your daily style!
