How to Mix and Match a Men’s White Button-Down Shirt
The styling advice I give is not only for the ladies – gentleman, I am talking to you today! Let’s talk about how we can take a white button-down shirt and pull it three different ways in your wardrobe. No matter your profession every man should own a plain white button-down shirt. They are a classic and as you will see can be styled in multiple ways.
THE BUSINESS PROFESSIONAL
First up, the businessman. Of course, this is probably the most assumed way to style a button-down shirt. For this look it is paired with Banana Republic’s new linen suit, which is amazing for the spring/summer months and accessorized with a navy floral tie, brown belt and Oxford shoe keeping the shirt tucked in for an overall professional look. Remember, if you are not a jacket guy or don’t need one for your office, this outfit doesn’t need it! Treat suit jackets and pants as separate entities!

THE CASUAL GUY
So you’ve already worn your white button-down to work, now where else could you possible wear it? You may need to look nice, but not over the top. Pair your white button-down shirt with a pair of denim and leave it untucked. I highly recommend this denim from Banana Republic (they are linked below) and both my clients and hubby are a tad obsessed. The look is complete with a brown chelsea boot and black Nixon watch.

THE SPRING/SUMMER DUDE
You’ve worn your shirt to work, gatherings with friends, but now it’s warm outside and you are headed to an outdoor concert with your guys. What are you going to wear? Yep, you got it; pair that white button-down shirt with a pair of shorts, like these navy ones. Leave the shirt untucked and roll up the sleeves. Complete your cool guy look with converse sneakers and sunnies. You’ll be the stylish guy in the crew!
