What To Wear to Graduations and Weddings
It is that time of year when our calendar fill up with countless events such as graduation parties, weddings or just celebrations in general. Every year there is always a question that I get from friends and clients – what do I wear?
I get it. It is overwhelming, weather depending, and let’s be honest it is a pain to always have to buy something new for an occasion. If you have a dress or jumpsuit that you love and is event appropriate – wear it! The more use the better and the reality is unless it a bold bright print people aren’t even going to realize that you’ve already worn it!
Sometimes the things in our closet just don’t due us justice and we need something new. If this is the case for you, here are some of my favorite picks for short dresses, midi length dresses, and jumpsuits! Remember dress for the occasion and gauge how “fancy” you need to be (I always begin with the venue):
SHORT DRESSES
Short dresses are fun, free, and perfect for hot summer days. Almost all of these, except the hot pink Vince Camuto dress could be worn casually to brunch with friends, date night, etc. How do you make it casual? Add on a denim jacket and pair with sandals instead of heels.
MIDI DRESSES
Midi dresses are a great option if you want to show less leg and also if you need to be dressed more formally. Again, dress these up with a pair of heels and statement earrings for a wedding or a little more casual vibe is to pair the dress with wedges.
JUMPSUITS
We all know I am a lover of jumpsuits. You can move comfortably and they generally have a little bit more coverage. Jumpsuits are a great example of something that you could wear to a formal wedding with a heel or you could keep casual with a sandal or wedge with a denim jacket for a graduation party. Jumpsuits are also great for when the weather isn’t on our side, say 40 degrees in May – thank you Iowa.
I hope this helps you when you start tackling your crazy busy summer schedule. Want to completely take the stress of what to wear off your self? You know who to call as Meredith and I are always here to help! Be sure to schedule an appointment soon as slots are quickly filling up!
