LA Recap

A little over a week ago I returned from another wonderful trip to the West Coast. My assistant, Meredith and I jet-setted to LA to attend the SIMPLY style conference, and to do some client shopping.

So what exactly is SIMPLY stylist conference some of you may be wondering? SIMPLY was created by Sarah Boyd to bring industry leaders together to inform attendees on their work through panel discussions, as well as, allowing individuals to do a lot of networking! Although I loved all of the talks, the panel of celebrity stylist was one of my favorites. Shocker right? The panel consisted of Etienne Ortega, Maeve Reilly, Law Roach, and Candice McAndrews.

Luckily the conference was held at The Americana at Brand, which included great client shopping and styling inspo that Meredith and I were able to take advantage of while in the area; just like every other time. I always leave the SIMPLY conference feeling rejuvenated, inspired, and thankful for my career path.

In between work, of course there is always time for a little fun. After grabbing an açai bowl (my newest obsession), we headed to the Melrose Trading Post Flea Market on Sunday. Okay, all you vintage lovers this is a must visit. The market is filled with vintage clothing, and we all know how much I love vintage. It is always fun to go through markets and racks of clothing because you never know what you will find. One of the many reasons I love vintage is because it is repurposing clothing, which is great for our planet.

After conferences, flea markets, and client shopping the trip ended with a great business dinner at Katsuya, which is an amazing sushi place that I highly recommend. After chats with incredible friends and my assistant, I could not be more excited about the future. Let’s just say,  Conlin Consulting, LLC. is growing with lots of amazing things in store – stay tuned!

As all good things come to an end, we packed our bags and boarded the plane back to the midwest. Thankfully I had the book, Girl Wash Your Face with me to read on the flights and during our multiple delays. Again, I HIGHLY recommend this read to everyone. It will leave you feeling inspired and ready to conquer the world, just as this trip did.
